Debbie had a few days off work, so we headed to Kerr Lake for a little R&R. When we arrived, the May flies were out in full force. After we cleaned it all up, we got the pontoon boat ready, set the fishing gear up, and got ready for Tuesday morning.
Tuesday, we hit the water about 7am. From 7am to about 9:30, we caught 31 fish...20 white perch, 6 stripers, and 5 large mouth bass. What a great morning of fishing!!!
Those may flies were EVERYWHERE!
Back at the houseboat, I had a little maintenance to do. The pull switch had failed on the bathroom exhaust fan. I found one in my shop and was able to modify the housing to fit it in.
The audio level on our TV in the sitting area was too low, so I brought a speaker pod to give it a boost. I brought a couple of cables to cut and splice together to make the connection.
Debbie was rolling in a bass she caught....
A summer storm popped up and dropped 1-1/2" of rain...
This was the last catch of the day... 2lb 12 Oz bass. We caught 33 fish today: 21 White Perch, 6 Striped Bass (Stripers), and 6 Largemouth Bass.
This last two vids are of the night cruise and the roll back to the houseboat. What a great day, more coming tomorrow!
Wednesday... We got up and hit the lake a little before 7am. We fished a bit, caught 3 stripers, and a couple of white perch. Out friend Laura arrived, we picked her up at the dock, and resumed fishing.
We headed back for breakfast around 9:30ish. After breakfast, we packed up and headed for Pink Hill Beach.
After a full day at the beach, we headed back to the houseboat. Laura had to be home by 6, and we were tired and hungry. Along the way, we spotted large bait balls and feeding fish down around 20' on the Garmin, and couldn't resist. We changed bait to some 20' divers, and Laura picked up this nice 2lb 8oz largemouth. Debbie hung one, but it got off at the boat.
We got up on Thursday morning, to get a little fishing in before heading back home. Here's a few pics...
Big ole' Black Crappie!
2lb 9oz bass...
After breakfast, we put up a few July 4th decorations...
Pontoon all covered, time to go home :-)
