Houseboat build, pg51...

The kitchen sink area is pretty much finished. The cabinet is being loaded, TV tucked in nice and neat, electrical is completed, plumbing is completed, overhead cabinets being stacked, and various decorations are installed around this space. Here's a few pics...

Houseboat build, pg50...

I originally designed the house to accept the indoor section of the split ductless heat pump on the outside of the bedroom wall, but some other things had changed in the layout and we needed to move it. I installed it on the back wall of the bedroom, looking strait up the hallway through the bedroom archway. This was a much better location, as it was a "head bumper" for my 6'1" tall frame. You can feel the air from it all the way to the front door, as it's motor-driven outlet damper can easily change the direction of the discharge air.

We routed the refrigeration lines out and down the back wall, uninsulated. I used a piece of 3" PVC pipe, ripped down the middle on my table saw. I drilled 6 holes through the PVC at an angle that allowed me to screw in to the back of the house, over the piping. Also drilled holes along it's length to allow me to insert the tube from the spray foam canes. A 3" cap was cut in half and used as a top cap. I then sprayed the foam into the holes until foam came out everywhere. The next day I trimmed the excess, and caulked. Debbie came back the next day and painted it to match the house. This was a great way to insulate and protect the two refrigeration lines, wiring, and condensate piping. This heat pump is awesome...16.5 SEER rating, and heats/cools/ the houseboat easily.

Houseboat build, pg49...

The shower build is complete with the exception of hanging the curtain and installing the dual shower heads. I went with dual shower heads because of the small shower stall space (24" x 32"), I didn't want to have to turn around in the shower, and I didn't like that a top mounted head will spray water all out and into the rest of the batch space. I ripped some spruce 2x4's to make the 1/2" thick trim, and they were painted with white exterior grade paint and well caulked. The side panels were cut from the white poly sheets from Home depot, and glued to the walls with construction adhesive. You'll see in one of two of the pics where I made spreaders to put pressure on the wall panels while they cured. W used a curved curtain rod to the main shower curtain to give a little more space for movement in the shower. Here's a few pics...

Houseboat build, pg48...

Here's a few shots of the bedroom. The bed top (mattress) is about to be installed. The rest of the room is finished with decorations in place. The top of the bed structure is hinged and will easily lift up. This allows room for extra storage, and houses the fresh water tank, water pump, and hot water heater. Once the plumbing is finished and has been tested, the mattress will be installed, and we'll be ready to sleep in the house! The bed is framed for a queen size mattress, so Debbie and I should have plenty of room. Here's a few pics...

Above is looking at the port side of the boat. You can see the curtains Debbie fitted to the transom window, one of the LED indirect lights, light switch for the bedroom, and the archway leading to the rest of the house.

Above is looking at the starboard side of the boat. You can see the curtains Debbie fitted to the transom window, the receptacle that will ultimately inside of the headboard's cubby, and the archway leading to the rest of the house.

The 3 photos above show the bedroom TV, mounted on an articulating arm for variable position of the TV. The whole house is internally wired for TV, ham radio, and vhf marine radio. There are 6 of the indirect LED lights around the bedroom. You can also better see the curtains Debbie and Donna made for the bedroom.

The above two photos show the large drawer I built into the lower portion of the bed. This drawer is 34" long, 22" wide, and about 12" tall. It's a big drawer! It now has a pair of handles on it that match the upper cabinet handles.

The above photo shows the upper bed structure with the top closed. It is designed to support a queen size mattress and have a little spare room around it to allow the top to be lifted for access for maintenance or additional storage.

This shot is from the bedroom, looking into the front starboard side. Here's a piece of art installed that Debbie located for the houseboat.

This pic shows the inside portion of the heat pump installed. This unit is a 17 seer system, and is VERY quiet when in operation.

Houseboat build, pg47...

The fresh water system will supply water throughout the house during times where we're not connected to the shore water system at the marina. The tank  is a 45 gallon capacity virgin polypropylene that I installed in the rear of the boat, below the bed. The top of the bed structure hinges up to allow access to storage and maintenance. More will be uploaded later about the pump and the on demand hot water system. The tank is blocked in on all side to prevent shifting. Here's a few pics...
