Rode up to the Houseboat today, just to get away from work and relax a bit. Took a run up to Jaws Beach and hung out with friends a while, came back to the houseboat and cooked on the grill, watched a movie, and crashed. A nice, relaxing day. Rain sat in on Saturday night, so we got up Sunday morning and went home.
We ran up to the houseboat to check on things and go for a ride on the pontoon boat. Temps are getting cooler, but still very nice outside.
My oldest son Chris and 9 year old grandson Desmond were in town from Indiana. We loaded up and took them to the lake. They had not seen the houseboat or the pontoon. We rode the pontoon boat over to spend part of the day at Jaws Beach. We had a great day on the water, and Desmond was exhausted by the day's end. Here's a few pics...

Our Jonboat power system had began to fail, after 8 years of use. We run this thing great distances, sometimes several miles, so we needed a dependable battery system. I decided to give the new deep cycle LiFeP01 batteries a shot. The battery we selected is rated at 100 Ah, will hold the output voltage steady for its full capacity, and good for over 5000 charge cycles! The series 27 battery we had weighed almost 80lbs, this new battery weighs 20.8 lbs!!! Wow, what a difference... and the usable battery power is amazing! Here's a few pics...
