We pulled the Jon boat to a private spot we fish at, we call the "Secret Pond", first thing this morning. Debbie packed a picnic breakfast, and we were on the pond at 6:15am. Wow, what a morning of fishing!!! Water temp was 78 degrees (!!), the sky was overcast, and the fish were ready. It sprinkled rain off and on, a little. We stopped for breakfast on the pond about 8am, and then continued fishing. We caught about 40 bass, and another 25 or so bluegill. We were playing with a multitude of baits...a few of the bass were caught on top water Ribit frogs, while most of them were caught on 5" Yum Dinger worms. Blue gill were caught on a multitude of baits... beetle spins, small dive baits, and even 4" segmented Rebel top water that looked like minnows. We were sometimes catching 2 at the time (one each).
